Outlook Calendar Tip of the Week

Contributed by Tony Tabone on 10/27/13

Creating Recurring Meetings or Appointments

When creating a new appointment or meeting on your calendar, you have the option to repeat the event at a specific interval for a set period of time.  For example, you might create an appointment that will repeat every Monday through the end of November. Instead of manually creating the appointment every Monday, you can create the appointment once and set a recurrence of every Monday with an end date of November 25 (the last Monday of November).  The event will automatically be repeated every Monday as a "series," with the last event being on November 25.

You will see this option displayed as a button labeled "recurrence" in a new meeting or appointment window in the Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2011 clients.  The Outlook Web App, available through myhome, displays this option as a drop-down menu labeled "repeat" in the new event window.

You don't have to completely cut out candies, cookies, and cakes from your diet in order to be healthy. Moderation is the key to keeping your sweet tooth happy while staying on track with healthy eating. Here are some tips:

Read the nutrition facts!

  • Dark chocolate has antioxidants and less sugar than milk chocolate, and is often lower in saturated fat.
  • Peanut or almond M&M's have a bit of protein from the nuts.

New Alumni Website Debuts

Contributed by Chris Pollock on 10/25/13

This past week, Ithaca College launched a brand-new alumni website that will serve as a single hub for alumni information, benefits, and services. Whether alumni want to find an old classmate, network with those in their industry, submit an alumni note, make a gift, find out about upcoming events, or read the latest alumni news, IC alumni can do it all at alumni.ithaca.edu.

The best part is that the new website uses IC's existing Netpass system, so faculty and staff who are also IC alumni will be able to use their current IC username and password to log into the site. In other words, faculty and staff who are also Ithaca College alumni do not need to activate a separate alumni account.
