 The School of Humanities and Sciences and the Department of Writing are pleased to welcome  New Yorker staff writer and award-winning nonfiction author Philip Gourevitch, fiction writer and Director of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop (the nation’s most prestigious graduate program In creative writing) Lan Samantha Chang, and acclaimed poet Thomas Sayers Ellis as part of this semester’s Distinguished Visiting Writers Series. They will be reading at 7:30pm on October, 25, October 16, and September 19 respectively.

Come and see rowing in the A & E Center pool between 4 and 6pm, weekday afternoons, through Wednesday, September 12. 

Men’s and women’s varsity crew are still looking for prospects. No previous rowing experience is necessary.  Men will be rowing Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Women will be rowing Tuesday and Thursday.

Pilates is Back at the Clinic

Johanna Goehner is back at the Wellness Clinic this semester teaching Pilates. The class will meet on Tuesdays at 1:30, and will run for 14 weeks. The cost is $70. Space is limited so if you would like to reserve a spot, contact me at ithaca.edu/wellness or call 274-1301.

 

 

Professor Joshua Bonnetta's work American Colour will exhibit as a two channel audio-visual installation as part of THE MUSEUM FOR THE END OF THE WORLD, in a group exhibition curated by Canada Research Chair Janine Marchessault  and Michael Prokopow for Toronto Nuit Blanche 2012. The event will take place at Toronto City Hall on September 29 from 7:03pm until sunrise and includes such artists as Douglas Coupland, Christine Davis and Geoffrey Pugen. In 2011 Nuit Blanche Toronto had an estimated attendance of over one million people.
