His piece was one of seven short films featured at the event. Blaney was also invited to participate in a post-screening panel discussion about the filmmaking process with the other young directors. Kathy Greenlee, assistant secretary for aging at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will discuss "The Future of Aging Policy in America" on Thursday, April 12, as the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute Distinguished Speaker for Spring 2012. Free and open to the public, the lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the Park Hall Auditorium, with a reception to follow.

Five students from the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies were selected to present as part of a Student Leadership Symposium at the International Conference on Outdoor Leadership in Estes Park, Colorado. All of the presentations were well attended, showcasing the quality of the RLS program at Ithaca College. Their faculty adviser, Christopher Pelchat, Ph.D., got many accolades for the professionalism displayed by the students.
Christopher Pelchat, Ph.D., an instructor in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies was invited to present twice at the International Conference on Outdoor Leadership and at the Outdoor Leadership Program Symposium, held on February 18-21, 2012, in Estes Park, Colorado.
