Assistant Secretary for Aging Kathy Greenlee to Speak April 12thContributed by Paula Davis on 04/07/12 Kathy Greenlee, assistant secretary for aging at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will discuss "The Future of Aging Policy in America" on Thursday, April 12, as the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute Distinguished Speaker for Spring 2012. Free and open to the public, the lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the Park Hall Auditorium, with a reception to follow. With changes in Medicare taking place as a result of the Affordable Care Act (now under scrutiny by the Supreme Court) and the Older Americans Act of 1965 up for reauthorization, Ms. Greenlee's perspective and information will be most timely. (183 words) Michael Blaney ’12 screens film at Los Angeles County Museum of ArtContributed by Melissa Gattine on 04/06/12 A Sushi Love Story, an animated film by Michael Blaney ’12, was screened in March to a sold out theater at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as part of the museum’s Young Director’s Night. His piece was one of seven short films featured at the event. Blaney was also invited to participate in a post-screening panel discussion about the filmmaking process with the other young directors.
