Kathy Greenlee, assistant secretary for aging at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will discuss "The Future of Aging Policy in America" on Thursday, April 12, as the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute Distinguished Speaker for Spring 2012. Free and open to the public, the lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the Park Hall Auditorium, with a reception to follow.

With changes in Medicare taking place as a result of the Affordable Care Act (now under scrutiny by the Supreme Court) and the Older Americans Act of 1965 up for reauthorization, Ms. Greenlee's perspective and information will be most timely.

Come on in to the the Fitness Center and help our our community in this time of need! The levels of blood are at critical low levels.

We all may know someone who is getting Cancer treatments or have other critical needs that require our life saving blood.

Please stop by the Norht Foyer between the hours of 9 to 3 to make an appointment at our table Monday, Tuesday,or Wednesday. As always walk-ins are welcome the day of the drive.

We will be excepting 4 Double Red appointments every hour too! Please help out others in need.

A Sushi Love Story, an animated film by Michael Blaney ’12, was screened in March to a sold out theater at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as part of the museum’s Young Director’s Night.

His piece was one of seven short films featured at the event. Blaney was also invited to participate in a post-screening panel discussion about the filmmaking process with the other young directors.

Blaney is a film, photography, and visual arts major.

Five students from the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies were selected to present as part of a Student Leadership Symposium at the International Conference on Outdoor Leadership in Estes Park, Colorado. All of the presentations were well attended, showcasing the quality of the RLS program at Ithaca College. Their faculty adviser, Christopher Pelchat, Ph.D., got many accolades for the professionalism displayed by the students.
