Dr. Pelchat presented the findings of his doctoral work titled Critical Action Research Enhancing Outdoor Adventure Leadership Instructional Practice at the Cortland Recreation Conference Research Symposium.
Ithaca College students (Principles and Practices of Sustainability/Sustainably Conscious Community /Environmental Crisis) will be working to reduce waste on November 12 at the Cortaca Jug. The event is part of the GameDay Challenge, an EPA sponsored competition among universities. We will be providing convenient recycling and trash containers, handing out color coded garbage bags labeled with recycling information, and canvasing the spectators. 
Native American Month Continues! Don't miss Charlie Hill (Oneida) Wed. Nov. 9th at 8pm in IC Square (Phillips Student Union) and the film Bright Circle about the role of Native Americans in football and how the dark history of the Indian boarding schools led to some of the best Native athletes of the 20th century. Film presentation and discussion Monday Nov. 14th at 7pm in Textor 103.
On Thursday, November 10th, at 6 p.m. in the Handwerker Gallery, the On the Verge play-reading troupe wil present a staged reading of Philadelphia, Here I Come!, written in 1964 by the Irish playwright Brian Friel. The reading was directed by Claire Gleitman, professor of English, and the cast will feature faculty members from both English and Theatre (Kevin Murphy, Hugh Egan, Chris Holmes; Greg Bostwick, Kathleen Mulligan, Judy Levitt), as well as students from the department of Theatre. The running time is roughly two hours.

This Thursday, November 10th, John Dau, a refugee from Sudan is coming to speak at Ithaca College. The event starts at 7pm in Textor 102 and is free for all to attend. Please come and show your support for the anti-genocide movement and the John Dau Foundation.
