Does it bother you when people drink out of plastic water bottles? Do you drink tap water from a reusable water bottle because you know it’s just as good if not better than bottled water? Do you want to make a difference on campus?

Be an advocate for the right to clean, safe and affordable tap water by joining the Ithaca College Chapter of Take Back the Tap! Look for our table at the Student Organization Fair and be sure to check out our first general meeting on Thursday Sept. 8th in Room 202 of the Business School at 7 p.m.  We hope to see you there!

Assistant Professor Cathrene Connery, of the IC Department of Education, has just published a new book, Profiles in Emergent Biliteracy: Children Making Meaning in a Chicano Community.  In the book, Dr. Connery presents ethnographic research about the language learning of Chicano kindergartners enrolled in a two-way, bilingual school in New Mexico.  Early response has been very laudatory!
