Apprehension about what happens in counseling prevents some students from seeking help when needed.  Opening Doors was created to lessen that apprehension and increase students awareness about counseling services on campus.

Created by Park Productions, Opening Doors follows two students who inform the audience about what happens when the doors to CAPS are opened.

Take a look…pass it on...show it in class...

After 30 years of dedicated service to Ithaca College, Bonnie Griffin will be retiring with her last day being Thursday, August 18th.  No one has done more to help build the systems and processes for employee information through the Office of Human Resources than Bonnie.  Bonnie will leave a legacy of focus and passion for her role and the College.  HR will be having a celebration lunch (12:00-1:00 PM) on Thursday, August 18th to send "our Bonnie" off to spend more time with her family in her favorite role of Grandma.  Please feel free to stop by and wish her well.

Help promote awareness about cost-free mental health screenings by assigning your students the task of writing a reaction paper to online screening for mental health.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) makes cost-free, confidential, and anonymous online mental health screening available to the campus community on its website.  Getting feedback from one, or all, of the various screenings made available (depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, alcohol abuse, anxiety disorders) is one step in the process of getting help for oneself - if needed.

Last year, 851 mental health screenings were completed through CAPS’ website.  Some of the students that completed screenings followed up with recommendations to speak with a mental health professional.  This year, we hope more students will take advantage of online screenings and get help for themselves, if needed, sooner rather than later.
