In keeping with the College’s summer hours policy, the Fix-it Friday (FIF) system maintenance time will be adjusted accordingly. From May 27 to August 12, the system maintenance window will be Fridays from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

At its May meeting, the Ithaca College Board of Trustees approved promotions for 12 faculty members. In addition, Donald Beachler, associate professor in the Department of Politics, was granted tenure. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. from Cornell University and his B.A. from West Virginia University.

The Mail Services department will be attending the  IC Party on, May 26, from 1 to 3:00 pm. The Mail Center and the Phillips Hall Post Office will be closed during this time.  Campus mail will be delivered between 9:00 and 10:00 am to all departments.

Sixteen years after graduating from Ithaca College and three months after being named sole anchor of ABC’s weekend newscasts, David Muir returned to his alma mater on Sunday, May 22, to give the college’s Commencement address. Speaking to some 1,440 new graduates and their guests, Muir told the audience his most important discovery has been the power of the human voice.

 Baccalaureate Mass Tomorrow!

Following the announcement by Dean Steven Siconolfi that he will not be returning to Ithaca College at the conclusion of his current leave, I would like to announce that Acting Dean John Sigg will continue in his current leadership role, holding the title of Interim Dean for the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance.  Interim Dean Sigg's engagement in this newly defined role will begin immediately and continue through academic year 2011-12.

Summer Hours - 2011

The summer hours program will begin Friday, May 27, 2011, and continue through August 12, 2011. During this period, full-time employees will work two fewer hours (37-1/2 hours reduced to 35-1/2, 40 hours reduced to 38 hours) and receive their usual compensation.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) would like to present Opening Doors, a promotional video by students, for students, about the counseling services available on campus.

Be sure to check out Active Minds video about the Send Silence Packing exhibit that was on display April 15, 2011.  Active Minds is a registered student organization that helps support the mission of CAPS.

Both videos were created by Park Production students.

The following Friday Senior Week events will be moved indoors due to inclement weather: 

The Senior Brunch will be held in DILLINGHAM from 12:00-1:30pm.

The Movie Night (feat. 'Space Jam') will be held in the FITNESS CENTER.  The event will begin at 8:00pm, with a show time of 8:30pm.  We will be using the floor of the Mondo Gym, so you will want to bring a blanket to sit on.  Come and enjoy popcorn, cotton candy, and raffle prizes! 

Both of these events are open to all seniors at no charge.  See you there!

Staying in Ithaca for the summer? Get a meal plan! You do not need to live on campus in order to have a meal plan, but if you plan on living in a residence hall, you must purchase a summer meal plan. Prepaid meal plans are available for all summer sessions except for May Session.

Andrew has been playing percussion since he was in the 4th grade, and he has performed in many different types of ensembles, including: Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra for 5yrs (principal percussion for 3), high school Jazz Ensembles, high school and IC Wind Ensemble, IC Percussion Ensembles, IC Steel bands, IC Marimba Band, and a jam band.  He hopes the internship with Pearl Drum Corporation will help him realize his goal of making a career as a professional musician.
