On Thursday, April 14th, at 7 p.m., the On the Verge reading series will present a staged reading of Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, Part 1: Millennium Approaches, by Tony Kushner. The reading will take place on the Hoerner Stage in Dillingham Center. It was directed by Claire Gleitman, a faculty member in the department of English, and its cast includes Greg Bostwick and Kathleen Mulligan, professors of Theatre, and students from the department of Theatre.

 Representatives from City Year, AmeriCorps, PeaceCorps and Teach for America will be available to speak about their experiences and talk to any interested students on Thursday, April 14 as part of Ithaca College Habitat for Humanity's Act! Speak! Build! month. The event will take place from 12:00-1:00pm in the Klingenstein Lounge. There will be coffee, tea and light refreshments, so pack a lunch, listen to some great experiences, and learn from the experts!

The IC Catholic Community invites you to participate in a Lenten Reconciliation Service this Thursday, April 14th, at 8pm in Muller Chapel.  Come participate in a simple service of prayer and song with opportunity for private Confession (Sacrament of Reconciliation).  Fr. Joe Marcoux, the pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Church, will join Fr. Carsten Martensen in the celebration of this sacrament.  Prepare for Holy Week and Easter!  Join in this opportunity to unload the burdens and baggage of selfishness and sin that weigh on each of us, and move from darkness and doubt into the light and love of Christ.  All are welcome!

 Tonight is the night, people!  The Society of Professional Journalists will be hosting the Japan Benefit Concert this evening.  Come to Emerson Suites from 7-10 p.m. and get ready for an amazing night of performances.  Premium Blend, IC Hip-Hop, IC Ballroom, Voicestream and several other student performers, to name a few, will be showcasing their talents for a great cause!

Admission is $3 and there will be plenty of other opportunities to donate to the relief efforts.  This concert will be fantastic and you should stop by for an hour, or stay for the entire duration.

Neal Dhand, lecturer in the Department of Cinema, Photography, and Media Arts, will screen his feature-film debut "Second-Story Man" in the Park Auditorium on Sunday, April 17 at 7pm. A Q&A session with the filmmaker will directly follow the film.

"Second-Story Man" is a psychological thriller that had its premiere at Cinequest 21 in San Jose. Arthur Black and Monique Low are small-time criminals pulling off jobs with their daughter Maria in tow. Max Rivers is a frustrated security guard in a loveless marriage. When their paths collide revenge seems the only option.

Fifteen graduate students studying communications will have their case studies published in the Summer 2011 volume of Casing Organizational Communication (published by Kendall-Hunt and edited by Jason Wrench).

The students wrote the case studies for their Fall 2010 Theoretical Foundations course.
