I am writing to announce that Dr. David Newman will be retiring from his position as Director of Health Services effective at the end of August. David has dedicated the past seventeen years to providing leadership for the Health Center’s efforts to ensure quality, comprehensive health services for our students at Ithaca College.

David will be pursuing an opportunity to work as a hospitalist and consultant in a rural area of Newfoundland, Canada on a permanent part-time (every other month) basis. This is an area that David truly loves and an opportunity he feels he cannot pass up. David has expressed that “Ithaca College is an extraordinary and wonderful place to work, and a difficult place to leave.” David has made significant contributions to the Health Services program and the College, and will be missed.

Please feel free to congratulate David on his decision and thank him for his commitment and good work over the years. A retirement celebration will be scheduled for late summer. More information will be provided about leadership transition in the Health Center as it becomes available.
