Associate Professor Richard Faria was selected to premiere the winning work of the International Clarinet Associations’ annual Composition Competition at their annual conference, ClarinetFest®, held in Austin, Texas, July 21-25, 2010. The work is by composer Kevin Gray and is called “Pyrrhic Suite”. The panel of judges chose Gray's work from among 33 entries, from 13 countries.

Now that the academic year has begun, we are in the process of convening a number of our Student Affairs and Campus Life Committees which are dedicated to addressing some very specific needs of the Ithaca College community.  In order to better address these needs by working through a representative body of the community, we are once again attempting to gain faculty, staff, and student participation on each of these groups.  The committees for which we are seeking membership are:  Diversity Awareness and Safety Awareness. The Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs will host its annual ALANA Community Welcome BBQ on August 24 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in IC Square. 

It’s a great opportunity to meet new members of our ALANA community, meet supportive faculty, staff, and administrators, meet a few student organization while enjoying a delicious BBQ dinner and a chance to win door prizes.

I write with an update on the progress and plans regarding the search for Ithaca College’s next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and a request for your ongoing involvement in our efforts. The search committee members recently reviewed the search prospectus draft, and our edits were incorporated by our search consultant, Ms. Julie Tea. The search prospectus is a valuable tool that will be used to solicit nominations and recruit candidates nationally. Discovering your True Self Group

I work as a Math teacher at Ithaca College.
In the Fall of 2010 I will be coordinating weekly inquiry sessions based on the book "Not Guilty" by Yaani Drucker.   The purpose of the course is to awaken us to our True Self.  The course is based on the book that is freely available on the web but you can also buy it from Amazon.  See:  http://www.notguiltybyyaani.com/book.html.  After I find out who is interested I will reserve a room at Ithaca College and coordinate a time.

Ithaca College jazz studies director Mike Titlebaum was recently awarded "Second Place Winner" in the 2010 Hillcrest Wind Ensemble composition contest. The group will perform his piece, Dança Latina, on November 6th in San Diego.


 

These locations will be open from 10:30am - 4:45pm this Saturday and Sunday.  Additonally, on Saturday August 28th, these two locations will have the same hours.

Read the body of your emails so that you know where your packages are located.  You may have packages in both locations.

As of Tuesday August 17th, we have over 650 packages waiting to be picked up when you return to campus.

After the Phillips Hall Post Office closes Thursday, 8/19 at 4:30, all remaining summer hold mail that has not been picked up will be taken to the Mail Center for processing.
