We are pleased to announce that Maura Stephens has joined us as associate director. A journalist, actor, public educator, and advocate of independent media, human rights, sustainability, and justice, Maura is a perfect fit for the center.

Dr. Jamie Fountain (Biology '02) and Dr. Michelle Niescierenko (Biology '02) have graduated from medical school and are now a pediatrician.  They are returning to the department to speak with premedical students, and to speak in some biology classes.

In December 2009, the College announced implementation of its new Cell Phone Policy. I wanted to take this opportunity to remind all employees that currently have a College provided cell phone you have until May 31, 2010 to establish service under your own name and submit an approved “Cell Phone Allowance Request Form” to the Payroll Office. (Note that payment of cell phone allowances may take up to the first of the following month from Payroll’s receipt of an approved allowance request form).

Wednesday, April 28th @ 7pm in Textor 103, the Ithaca Community is invited to hear Jewish-American independent journalist Jared Malsin present the facts and fiction about the suppression of media in the Palestinian Territories. Jared was working for the Ma’an News Agency in the West Bank as an English editor and journalist before being deported by the Israeli government this past January.
