The James J. Whalen Academic Symposium celebrates the tradition of student and faculty collaboration in research and creative activity at Ithaca College. The Symposium affords students the opportunity to present their work, including posters, oral presentations on their senior and honors thesis projects and independent research, and to present their original creative work in the arts, including music, theater, film, and two- and three-dimensional art. Attended by students, faculty, and the larger community, the Symposium is a high point in the academic year.

Strike, a piano-percussion duo with pianist Jeffery Meyer, who conducts the IC Orchestras, and Paul Vaillancourt, recently released a CD entitled "Convergence."  The CD represents a three year collaboration with five composers; all works were written or arranged for the duo.  During January, the duo did a midwest CD-release tour which included concerts in Chicago, Northern Illinois University, Luther College and the University of Iowa's Center for New Music.

Legend of the Mountain Man, set in picturesque Montana, features a typical, dysfunctional family of five. The father, who has been at odds with his parents for many years, decides to send his three children to his parents’ ranch for the summer. The children unexpectedly encounter a creature, one that has never been seen nor recorded in history books. Viewers accompany the children on a heartwarming journey as they navigate the family’s past and try to reconcile some of the estranged family members.

Hillel's 3rd annual semi-formal dance is this Saturday night at 8 pm in Presser Hall (in the music school)!  This event is open to the entire campus community so come on out and enjoy a night of dancing, food and fun! Don't forget to pick up your tickets in campus center tomorrow from 10-3 pm. $3 for Hillel affiliates, $5 for non- affiliates. If you haven't bought a ticket yet and you can't buy one tomorrow, don't sweat it. Tickets will be sold at the door on Saturday night. Prices at the door will be $5 for Hillel affiliates and $7 for non-affiliates.  Don't miss out on Hillel's biggest dance party of the semester! See you on Saturday!

CPR/AED Class Offered

If you are a student and you need to drive a College-owned/leased vehicle for any reason, you must complete a driver safety class.

The next driver safety classes will be offered on  Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 2pm-4pm and Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 7pm-9pm in Textor 101.

Over the years, Apple has considerably increased the capabilities of their iMac desktop system, and has re-positioned it as their mainstream desktop computer. It has become quite powerful in its own right, and is now Apple’s ‘standard’ desktop system for home and office use. During this time Apple also restructured their MacPro tower model computers to compete with high-end graphics workstations for non-linear digital editing and high-definition video applications.
