Professor Tom Shevory and Lecturer Tsatsral Davaadorj (Mongolian National University) presented the paper, "The Ethics of Politics and the Politics of Ethics:  The U.S. and Mongolia," at the Conference on Democracy and Political Parties, Genghis Khan Hotel, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, November 15, 2009.  The conference was sponsored by the Mongolian National University, the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party, and the Mongolian Academy of Public Administration.
 

The Ithaca volleyball team (23-17) has been selected for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament. Ithaca, the top seed in the eight-team tournament, will host eighth-seeded St. Joseph's (20-14) in a quarterfinal match Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Ben Light Gymnasium. Wednesday's other quarterfinals feature second-seeded St. John Fisher hosting seventh-seeded Medaille, third-seeded Elmira hosting sixth-seeded Baruch and fourth-seeded FDU-Florham hosting fifth-seeded Ramapo. The four quarterfinal winners will advance to Saturday's semifinals and final at a site to be determined following Wednesday's matches. Ticket prices will be announced by the ECAC Tuesday.
 

The Ithaca College women’s soccer team (14-4-1) has been selected for the NCAA playoffs. The Bombers, champions of the Empire 8, will compete in a four-team regional this weekend at William Smith. Ithaca takes on Muhlenberg (12-6-0) at 1:30 p.m. in the second of Saturday’s semifinals, with the host Herons (13-3-2) facing Simmons (12-5-3) at 11:00 a.m. in the other. The regional final is scheduled Sunday at a time to be announced.

Weight Watchers rolled out the new Momentum program for 2009, designed to help you modify the plan so that it works for you!

We have had two wonderfully successful back-to-back 17-week series here at Ithaca College. We have four members who have achieved their goal weights and Lifetime status. Our group as a whole has dropped a total of 450 pounds during the current series, and a whopping 1067 pounds since starting the campus program in April. It can be done--join us to find out how!

Students Active For Ending Rape (SAFER) and Health Promotions invites you to a screening of a rape awareness and prevention film, Welcome to the Party, directed and edited by Tom Nicholson, assistant professor of television and radio in the Park School. The next Spectrum meeting is Nov. 11 Wednesday at 6PM, but it will take place somewhere else besides Wiliams 317. Instead of the meeting I want to check out this great presentation about Ani DiFranco's music and politics.  Ani is an musical artist, and most of her lyrics involve being bisexual, and the issues and joys that come along with it.
