Bombers to Host St. Joseph's in ECAC Volleyball WednesdayContributed by Michael Warwick on 11/09/09 The Ithaca volleyball team (23-17) has been selected for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament. Ithaca, the top seed in the eight-team tournament, will host eighth-seeded St. Joseph's (20-14) in a quarterfinal match Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Ben Light Gymnasium. Wednesday's other quarterfinals feature second-seeded St. John Fisher hosting seventh-seeded Medaille, third-seeded Elmira hosting sixth-seeded Baruch and fourth-seeded FDU-Florham hosting fifth-seeded Ramapo. The four quarterfinal winners will advance to Saturday's semifinals and final at a site to be determined following Wednesday's matches. Ticket prices will be announced by the ECAC Tuesday. Bombers to Play Muhlenberg at William Smith Saturday in NCAA Women's Soccer PlayoffsContributed by Michael Warwick on 11/09/09 The Ithaca College women’s soccer team (14-4-1) has been selected for the NCAA playoffs. The Bombers, champions of the Empire 8, will compete in a four-team regional this weekend at William Smith. Ithaca takes on Muhlenberg (12-6-0) at 1:30 p.m. in the second of Saturday’s semifinals, with the host Herons (13-3-2) facing Simmons (12-5-3) at 11:00 a.m. in the other.
