Optical Scanning Finals Week Procedures Have Changed!Contributed by Lisa Efing-Guida on 04/26/09 Optical Scanning Finals Week procedures have recently changed. There are special procedures and schedules in place for Final Exam Week – Tuesday, May 5th through Monday, May 11th, 2009. Physics professor Luke Keller will give an update on NASA's Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) and describe the project, a modified 747 aircraft with a 3-meter diameter telescope mounted in its fuselage. Keller is a co-investigator on a team of scientists and engineers who have designed and built a sensitive infrared camera for the observatory. The team will use their camera to make the first astronomical observations from SOFIA later this year and in early 2010. Read more . . . We offer the following suggestions to help provide continuity in your mail-related services. Begin notifying the publishers of magazines and newspapers you receive where you will be in May. Their toll free numbers and web sites are usually listed in the front or back of the publication. This mail class is not forwarded by the USPS from our College. The USPS notifies the publishers of the permanent address we provide on the publication and then discards the mail piece. Read more . . .
