The Park Center for Independent Media (PCIM) at Ithaca College has announced that its first annual Izzy Award for special achievement in independent media will be shared this year by two pillars of independent journalism: blogger Glenn Greenwald and Democracy Now! host/executive producer Amy Goodman.

The award ceremony -- featuring Goodman and Greenwald -- will take place at Ithaca's State Theatre on Tuesday, March 31, at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Tickets may be picked up at the Ithaca College Campus Center or the State Theatre box office. The IC ticket office, located in the recreation center on the first floor of Campus Center, is open Monday-Friday, 12:10-6:00 p.m. The State Theatre box office, located at 105 W. State Street, is open Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., as well as on evenings there is a performance taking place from two hours prior to showtime until one half hour past curtain.

Swim Lessons for All Ages

The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team is offering swimming lessons for all ages over four Saturdays: March 28, April 4, April 18, and April 25.

Participants will be taught by a member of the team, either one-on-one or one instructor per two students, in four 45-minute lessons from 10:30-11:15 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
