This year's Relay for Life is March 28, 2009! Save the date. There will be tons of bands, a cappella groups, dancers, pie-eating contests, bingo, poker tournaments, a hypnotist, cartoonist, sand art, tye dye, free food, and so much more!

Last year we had about 3,000 students from Cornell and Ithaca and raised over $225,000 dollars combined.

Ithaca College's goals:
1,200 students
100+ teams
$100,000 raised for ACS
VIP requirements: $250+ raised for individual

A collection of poems by writing professor Katharyn Howd Machan was selected as the winner in a national competition run by ByLine magazine.

The 30-page manuscript, When She's Asked to Think of Colors, will be published in 2009 by Palettes and Quills Press in Rochester, New York.

Srijana Bajracharya, of the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education, along with two colleagues from SUNY Brockport and the University of Rochester, presented a paper titled, "A Comparison of Trends in HIV/AIDS Prevalence Rates and Preventive Strategies in Nepal and India," at the 136th annual meeting and exposition of the American Public Health Association in San Diego, California, in October 2008.
