Anthropology major Melendy Krantz '09 presented her paper, "Constructing Masculine Pregnancies: A Comparison of Social Interpretations of Reproduction among Middle Class American Women and Egyptian Bedouin Women," at the Women, Home, and Nation: Private and Public Spaces conference, held March 14-15 at Binghamton University. Melendy was the only undergraduate student to present at the conference.

"Hiding in Plain Sight" -- a community forum on youth, sexuality, and Jewish identity -- will take place on Tuesday, April 1, as part of Ithaca College's 11th annual Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF). Free and open to the public and featuring a screening of the film, Hineini: Coming Out in a Jewish High School, the event will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Park Hall Auditorium.

The Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival opens with a free multimedia event March 31, entitled "West Side Story Counterpoint," featuring music by Leonard Bernstein.

Pianists Jairo Geronymo and Deborah Martin are featured, along with soprano Deborah Lifton and baritone Brad Hougham. All are faculty members in the School of Music. Ann Michel and Phil Wilde have created the multimedia projections.

A free evening of chamber music for clarinet and piano will be presented on Friday, March 28 at 8:15 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. Clarinetist Richard Faria and pianist Jeffery Meyer will be the featured performers. Both faculty members in the School of Music, their program will feature "Romances" by Robert Schumann, "Vier Stucke" by Alban Berg, Stockhausen’s "Amour," and other music by Zemlinsky, Tchemberdji, and Davidovsky.
