Do you love to sing? Do you enjoy learning with other members of your community? The Intergenerational Choir is a cooperative choral ensemble comprised of both IC students and the older adult residents of Longview, an Ithacare Community. Each Tuesday from 7-8, students carpool to Longview to sing with the residents. This year, Dr. Jennifer Haywood and Melanie Wade will be leading the ensemble. We are especially looking for women, but all are welcome! It is alright if you cannot make it every single week; we would love to have you there as often as possible! WomenSpeak 2008 Conference
Theme: "Telling the Truth"

If you'd like to participate in WomenSpeak, you can still get your proposals in. The deadline has been extended until Monday, February 4. Co-directors Katie Marks and Jaime Warburton invite all women who are, or have been, part of the Ithaca College community to consider offering a presentation of 15 to 30 minutes in length. WomenSpeak, will take place on Tuesday, February 26, from 10:00 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Klingenstein Lounge of the Campus Center.

Dynamic violin virtuoso Rachel Barton Pine will give this year's Louis K. Thaler Concert Violinist Series performance at Ithaca College on Saturday, February 2. The free concert will begin at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.

With pianist Matthew Hagle, Pine will perform two works honoring Black History Month: Beethoven's "Kreutzer" Sonata, which was written for an Afro-English violinist, and a set of spirituals form the first half of the program. Pine will also perform Richard Strauss's violin sonata and the Sarasate "Carmen" Fantasy.

In addition to her public performance, Pine will give a master class on Sunday, February 3, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. The series was established in 2002 to honor Louis Thaler's lifelong love of the violin.
