One of the nation’s premier military ensembles, the United States Coast Guard Band, will perform at Ithaca College on Friday, September 15. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. Though the performance is free, tickets are required. To obtain tickets in advance, visit the Ticket Center at Clinton House, 116 Cayuga St., in Ithaca, or call (607) 273-4497 or (800) 284-8422. Concertgoers may also obtain tickets at the door.

Happy 250th birthday, Wolfgang! Happy 100th, Dmitri! Three Monday evening chamber music performances by Ithaca College faculty will celebrate the 2006 milestone birthdays of those two great composers. The concerts will take place at 7:00 p.m. on September 11, 18, and 25 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the Whalen Center. They are free and open to the public.

Dr. Margaret Arnold, Department of Therapeutic Recreation and Leisure Services, and Dr. Margaret Nowicki, Department of Business Administration, co-authored an article entitled, "Assessing Practices Used to Manage Human Resources" in THE VOICE magazine--the official publication of the New York State Recreation and Park Society, Inc. Arnold and Nowicki continue to research HR issues among recreation managers as part of a grant through the Center for Faculty Research and Development.

The first general meeting of AMA will take place Monday, Sept. 11 at 8:00 in Williams 221.

Last academic year, Ithaca College established its first ever Odyssey of the Mind team. The team began preparation in late October/early November for this year’s World competition which took place on May 24 - 27, 2006, at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
