The year-long film series Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen: The Many Meanings of Family continues on Thursday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m. in Textor 103, with a screening of “In My Shoes: Stories of Youth with LGBT Parents.” This will be the Ithaca area premier of this just released youth-produced documentary film by and about children of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender parents.

Bear Sighting on Campus

At about 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, an unidentified person reported sighting a black bear in the parking lot of Public Safety. Officers responded and located the animal near the Physical Plant Compost site. The officers monitored the bear until it left the campus westerly toward route 96B.

The third annual observance of National Latino AIDS Awareness Day is October 15, 2005. NLAAD is a day of awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDS in Latina/o communities, and a time to renew commitment to ending the spread of HIV and ensuring quality of life to those living with HIV. General Administrative Services and Purchasing reminds departments that all plain (non-printed) white and colored multi-use copy/printer paper and plain (non-printed) white, brown kraft, and Tyvek mailing envelopes must be ordered and purchased from Staples via their online office supplies ordering system (Stapleslink.com) for next-day desk-top delivery. Staples is the only authorized supplier for plain paper and envelope purchases at IC.
