Chip Gagnon's book The Myth of Ethnic War: Serbia and Croatia in the 1990s
(Cornell Univ Press, 2004) received the American Political Science Association's
Best Book on European Politics and Society Award at its annual convention in
Washington DC on Sept 3. The award is given for the best book published on
European Politics and Society in the previous year. Chip is Associate Professor
in the Dept. of Politics.

Stephen Tropiano, director of the Ithaca College James B. Pendleton Center in Los Angeles, is co-curating a new exhibit titled “Gay Hollywood” at the Hollywood Entertainment Museum. The exhibit is opening September 15 and will be on view until December 4. Tropiano worked on the project with Hollywood Entertainment Museum curator Jan-Christopher Horak.

    Heinz Koch (co-authors: Kristina M. Hugar and Pasquale Iacono) will be presenting at the 11th Kyushu International Symposium on Physical Organic Chemistry, Fukuoka, Japan. The title of his presentation is "Stereochemistry of the Nucleophilic Reactions of Methanolic Methoxide with Vinyl Halides."
