Master Composter Classes

The Compost Education Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County is an exciting volunteer opportunity in Tompkins County.

Every year the Compost Education Program trains a new group of master composters. This year, training sessions are scheduled for ten consecutive Thursday evenings, February 17-April 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. All aspects of composting are covered, including the basic science of composting, systems and methods for both indoor and outdoor composting, troubleshooting, and composting use.

RecycleMania Begins

Can Ithaca College beat the Ivy League? On January 30, "RecycleMania" hits Ithaca College. Until April 9, the College will engage in friendly competition with 48 other colleges and universities across the country, including Harvard, Yale, and Dartmouth, to determine which school can recycle the most.

Sharon Otterman '91 will be returning to her alma mater for a three-day visit February 7-9 as the 2005 Skip Landen Professional in Residence.

Otterman is the vice president for media strategy at ESPN. She is responsible for broadcast promotions, media planning, and return on marketing investment for ESPN and its networks.
