Poetry in the Handwerker

On December 9, at 7:00 pm, the Handwerker Gallery will host its final poetry reading of the Fall 2004 semester. The reading will feature Rachel Wenrick and student Mandy Rudolph of the Department of Writing. An open reading will follow.

Krista Scott's musical adaptation of Charles' Dickens' A Christmas Carol premiered at the Metropolis Performing Arts Center, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, on November 26. The adaptation and production received praise by the Chicago Area Pioneer Press.

Harry McCue and Bruce North, art, have each had a painting accepted for exhibition in the show, Ithaca Artists, at the Upstairs Gallery, DeWitt Building, Ithaca. This exhibit will run through December.

Stephen Kress will present his story of seabird reintroductions throughout the world in CNS 202 at 1:15 pm on Thursday, December 9.

The techniques Kress originated to reintroduce the Atlantic puffin are now used for threatened seabird populations throughout the world.

Richard Strange will visit Ithaca College as a guest conductor at two free concerts. A longtime leader of wind ensembles and orchestras, Strange will conduct the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble on Wednesday, December 8, and the Ithaca College Concert and Symphonic Bands on Thursday, December 9. Both performances will start at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.
