Ithaca College ended the winter sports season in ninth place in the National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Directors' Cup standings. The NACDA Directors' Cup standings are determined by a school's finish in NCAA playoff competition in each sport.

Sharon Mazzarella, chair and associate professor in the Television-Radio department, is founding co-editor of the new journal Popular Communication. The first issue of this journal, which publishes academic articles on all aspects of popular culture/communication was published by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates in January 2003.

Johanna Baker Wins Skiing Medal
