Nidiria Ruiz Medina belongs to the Naya River Basin community council, an Afro-descendent population in the southern area of Colombia’s Pacific region. She is part of an organizational process that contributes to the defense of territory and human rights. Her organizing work is articulated through the national CONPAZ (Communities Building Peace in the Territories) network, which provides tools and fundamental elements for building community.

A regional organization (CNYCDA) is hosting an Internship Showcase event on November 10th in Syracuse. Selected students will be given an opportunity to give a 3-minute presentation about their prior internship experiences (including field work, performances, etc) for the opportunity to win a $500 prize!

The Ithacan has been named one of nine national finalists for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s 2019 Crown Award. The Gold and Silver Crowns, the CSPA's highest honors, are awarded for overall excellence. The paper was judged based on both its print and online editions produced during the 2017–18 academic year (Aidan Quigley, editor-in-chief)

The winners will be announced at the Spring National College Media Convention in New York City, March 6–9, 2019.

 Virtual reality, augmented reality, and 360 video are immersive technologies having the potential to impact education and industry in areas as diverse as the arts, medicine, architecture, advertising, and entertainment. Advances in technology and the availability of reasonably priced hardware makes it feasible for Ithaca College to launch IC Immersive, an initiative designed to explore AR/VR/360 space. Immersive technologies are something one must experience to fully grasp the potential for knowledge cultivation and creation. Members of the IC community can join the kick-off at today's demo day!

Fitness Center Fall Break Hours

 The Fitness Center will be operating with reduced hours over Fall Break.  Our hours of operation will be:

Wednesday 10/17: 6:30am - 5:00pm

Thursday 10/18: 11:00am - 2:00pm

Friday 10/19: 11:00am - 2:00pm

Saturday 10/20: CLOSED

Sunday 10/21: CLOSED

We will reopen with our regular academic year hours on Monday 10/22/18.
