Conversations Across Screen Cultures, a new online initiative featuring live interviews and discussions with film and media scholars, media artists, and programmers in the Central New York region, resumes on Tuesday October 13 at 6:30 pm with an interview that features a conversation about the research and publications of Dr. Roger Hallas, Associate Professor of English, Syracuse University.

Women's and Gender Studies (WGST)and the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) announce the second event of a new on-going collaboration, F2F:  Faculty to Faculty Salons, on Tuesday October 13 at 7:30 p.m.

The second F2F salon features an interview with Dr. Natasha Bharj, Assistant Professor of Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies. Dr. Claire Gleitman, Professor of English and  Coordinator of the WGST Program, introduces this event.

Phishing for Gift Cards

Criminals continue to send phishing email messages from Gmail and other external email addresses in the names of our faculty and staff. They ask if we’re “available” for a “quick favor” or some other pretense to get us into an email conversation, and eventually ask us to buy some gift cards and send them the codes. They’ll often have some excuse for using their “personal” email address instead of their ithaca.edu address, and why they can’t talk on the phone.

Home Workouts with the Fit Crew!

Join the Office of Recreational Sports for FREE at-home workouts prepared by our student staff.  Each week participants will be provided a series of written workouts and supplemental videos to help you stay active and well while away from campus.  All workouts can be modified for either novice or experienced exercisers, and new this semester we're offering options for both bodyweight only exercises and workouts with equipment.  Register now at recreation.ithaca.edu (Netpass login required).

Voting is a fundamental right for all Americans and exercising that right in all elections, local, state, and national, can help create meaningful change. Any difference in a community starts at the ballot box, and voting allows citizens to affect the most important issues to society. 

The Roy H Park School of Communications at Ithaca College will observe this by providing an opportunity for students to secure internship credit, both credit and noncredit (.5 to 1 credit) in the Fall of 2020.
