(86 words) Dean Karl Paulnack elected to the National Executive Committee of Phi Mu Alpha SinfoniaContributed by Sara Jacobs on 07/24/18 Karl Paulnack, Dean of the School of Music, has been elected to a six-year term on the National Executive Committee (NEC) of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. The seven members of the NEC serve as Phi Mu Alpha's primary governing body, overseeing the affairs of the fraternity. Sinfonia is the largest and oldest national fraternity in music, having initiated more than a quarter million members since its inception in 1898. Dean Paulnack is a recipient of the Signature Sinfonian medal of honor and also serves as the Governor of Province 17. For the final six, I led the board as chair. Serving as a trustee gave me an opportunity to express my love for Ithaca College and my desire to help advance the mission of this institution. My service on the board ran its course at the end of May, and since then I have taken time to reflect on my years on the board and how profoundly they have touched my life.
