 The club Ithaca College Unites For HER participates in fundraising efforts to provide a grant to any student, faculty, staff or immediate family member of theirs affected by breast cancer. This grant is to help pay for integrative, complementary therapies to help those who are going through or have gone through breast cancer treatment. These therapies include acupuncture, yoga classes, massage therapy, and nutrition counseling among others. This gallery talk will be about how Amyas Naegele, who provided many of the objects for the current exhibition, Made to Move: African Nomadic Design, undertook the task of collecting a Rendille tent in Kenya in 2012 for presentation in a controlled museum environment. He will discuss the ways in which this journey sheds light on traditional and contemporary Africa as it relates to collecting and display, as well as the challenges of displaying architecture. Issues of temporality and the relationship of sedentary and nomadic communities will be a key part of the discussion, which will be moderated by Assistant Professor Risham Majeed, who curated the exhibition with her students.

Apply to participate in OSEMA's Summer Service trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, taking place in May 13 to May 20, 2017!  Summer Service trips are week-long opportunities for students to start out their summers with some community service.  We are still seeking a student to help serve as a driver for our trip to Milwaukee where we will focus on food justice and poverty alleviation with the nationally renowned urban farm, Growing Power, Inc. Ithaca College Italian Club is a student organization that aims to spread Italian culture and pride across the Ithaca College campus. The student organization plans many Italian-themed events to encourage students of Italian and non-Italian descent to unite and celebrate Italian culture. In the past year, they have held a cannoli fundraiser and a charity event to raise money for earthquake relief in Italy. This past week, they held a very successful “Annual Pizza-Off” where approximately 100 students were able to sample local Ithaca pizza.

We are a nonprofit on-campus organization that supports media literacy integration for K- College classrooms by providing media literacy curricula as well as online and traditional workshops for educators.  Join our team this Fall to help disseminate information regarding critical thinking and media literacy skills for our diverse international audience.

We accept internships between 1 and 3 credits, and hours are flexible!

Ten IC students presented their research at the national American Chemical Society conference held in San Francisco. Matt Bixby (`17), Erika Bravo (`17), Noah Budin (`18), Omar Charaawi (`17), Matt Chiriboga (`17), Erin Higgins (`18), Sam Hilston (`18), Benjamin Morse (`17), Melissa Raymond (`18), and Rain Talosig (`19) all presented results from their independent research projects conducted in the chemistry department. Congratulations to this amazing group for creating superb presentations and for being great ambassadors for IC!
