Greetings and best wishes to everyone as the semester comes to a close. Returning home for winter break can be wonderful and exciting, but sometimes stressful. This section of the LGBT Center website provides a list of resources full of information, support, and diversion created especially for you during winter break. The staff of the Center for LGBT Education, Outreach and Services wishes you the best of luck during finals week, and a safe and happy winter break!

Over the fall semester a number of staff from Digital Instruction and Information Services (DIIS) have actively participated and contributed thought leadership for many regional and national professional organizations, program committees and conferences.

 ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca College Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreational Sports, Susan Bassett '79, announced that Dan Swanstrom has been named the 10th head coach for the prestigious football program on South Hill. Swanstrom will begin his appointment at IC on January 3, 2017.

Scott Stull, Assistant Professor in the Anthropology Department, presented at the Reconstructive and Experimental Archaeology Conference at Colonial Williamsburg, in Williamsburg, Virginia, on November 18, 2016. His paper was titled, "Experimental Archaeology as Participant Observation: A Perspective from Medieval Food."

Please note that Terrace Dining Hall will close at 2:00 PM for the semester, tomorrow, Wednesday, 12/14. Towers Dining Hall will host Late Night on Wednesday only from 8 PM-12 Midnight. 

There will be no Late Night service on Thursday, 12/15, or Friday, 12/16.

The Fitness Center will be closing at 2:00pm on Friday 12/16/16, and will remain closed through Sunday 1/8/17.  We will reopen with reduced hours on Monday 1/9/17.  Please visit the Fitness Center website for a complete listing of hours.

As a courtesy, Island Health and Fitness will be offering reduced price guest fees throughout this time for all Ithaca College faculty and staff.  A valid Ithaca College ID must be presented to be eligible for the discount.  Any guests who do not have an Ithaca College faculty/staff ID will be required to pay full price for a guest pass.

Congratulations to Stephen Sweet, Chair for Sociology Department, for co-authoring the article, “Manager Attitudes Concerning Flexible Work Arrangements: Fixed or Changeable?”. It has been accepted for publication in the journal, COMMUNITY, WORK & FAMILY. Co-authors, both from Boston College, are Marcie Pitt-Catsouphes and Jacqueline James.

Patricia Zimmermann, professor of screen studies,  Dale Hudson (NYU-Abu Dhabi),  and Claudia Pederson (Wichita State University) published a chapter in a book probing the relationship between cinema and new media entitled Cinemas Em Redes: Tecnologia, Estetica e Politica Na Era Digital, edited by Gilberto Alexandre Sobrinho (Papirus Editora, Brazil, 2016).
