Though we — like all of you — successfully conducted our important business in a remote environment, we sincerely missed this IC community and the many opportunities our on-campus board meetings deliver for us to connect with you, including the major highlight of our spring meetings: the college’s Commencement ceremony and celebrations. Feature updates are essentially new versions of the operating system. Rather than a large update every several years, such as Windows 7 to Windows 10, Microsoft now offers smaller feature updates twice per year. Join the Ithaca College Sexual Violence Prevention Committee for a virtual event series to screen and discuss the Fundamental docu-series created by the Global Fund for Women. This event series will be co-hosted by the Tompkins County Advocacy Center, BOLD Women's Leadership Network, Office of International Programs, the Center for IDEAS, the LGBT Center, Athletics, the Office of Student Engagement, Public Safety, the Politics Department, the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, the Women's Mentoring Network, and the Psychology Department.

I am so pleased to share with you today that Ithaca College has set a date of Monday, Oct. 5, to begin the 2020-21 academic year in person, on our South Hill campus.
Patricia Zimmermann, Professor of Screen Studies and Codirector of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, published a co-authored analytical conversation with Caren Kaplan unpacking and analyzing the use of drones during the COVID-19 international shelter-in-place directives.
Even though the semester is over, study abroad advisors in the Office of International Programs are available throughout the summer for Zoom appointments to help you plan for a future study abroad experience. Although College-sponsored and affiliated study abroad programs are suspended for 2020-21, we would be happy to help you plan for a summer, semester, or winter session abroad in the 2021-22 academic year or beyond.
