New York Times correspondent Adam B. Ellick — whose reporting first brought Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai to the attention of the world — has accepted an invitation to deliver the main address at Ithaca College’s 2016 Commencement ceremony, scheduled for May 22. Ellick is a 1999 journalism graduate of the Roy H. Park School of Communications.

The Vice President of Human Resources search committee has met with semi-finalist candidates over the past several weeks and has identified candidates who will come to campus over the next 10-12 days. For each on-campus candidate, there will be an open session where all members of the campus community are invited to ask questions, in addition to specific times for Staff Council, Faculty Council, and SGA to meet with each candidate. Online feedback opportunities will be available so that members of the campus community can share their impressions and observations of each candidate with the search committee. Specific times and days for the campus-wide question and answer sessions will be announced when schedules for the candidate visits are finalized. 

Bonny Griffith, director of client and enrollment marketing in the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications, has accepted a position as Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Cortland Regional Medical Center, where she will be reporting directly to Mark Webster, president and CEO.

 Travelers will now get to New York City faster and with less expense as Coach USA rolls out its new Platinum Express Service in Ithaca, on Thursday, December 10, 2015.

The service adds reduced fares and several new non-stops between Ithaca and New York City, as well as new pickup and drop off locations. Platinum Express busses will pick up on-campus at Ithaca College, Cornell University and the Ithaca Bus Terminal; Thursdays, twice on Fridays, and Sundays.

Visiting artist Sarah Gotowka's dye workshop has been rescheduled for Wednesday, December 9, from 11am-1pm.  The event is open to the public and free, and supplies will be available on a first-come basis.  Silk scarves and handkerchiefs are available on-site.
