On behalf of the search committee, I am pleased to share that Jennifer Campbell has been selected as Ithaca College's new associate vice president (AVP) of marketing communications. Jennifer comes to us from Cornell University, where she oversees communications for the university's advancement operations and is a member of the senior leadership team for its Division of Alumni Affairs and Development (AAD).

As director of communications for AAD, she helped produce the university's first-ever giving day last March; organized a yearlong campaign leveraging Cornell's sesquicentennial anniversary; refined the design, content, and purpose of Ezra magazine, a publication for donors; and led a comprehensive reform of the division's digital marketing efforts, among other roles.

There are many pieces that make up your Ithaca College experience and student organizations are a huge piece to that puzzle. Find the missing pieces to your puzzle at the Student Organization Fair. 

The Fall 2015 Student Organization Fair is Wednesday, September 2nd 10am-3pm in the Campus Center Quad. There will be over 200 student organizations in attendance! Students will be recruiting members, showcasing their organization, and sharing the pieces to their puzzle. 

There will be a new addition to the Student Organization fair this year. Students will be able to give back by participating in 5 different service projects on behalf of their student organization during the fair. The student organization with the most projects completed will win food for one meeting. Stop by the OSEMA table to learn more.

The Student Organization Fair is free to attend. Take this opportunity to find your pieces by signing up for many student organizations!

Ithaca College ITS is pleased to announce that the A&E Center is now ready to begin the testing phase for their new Wi-Fi environment. Between now and September 7th, we are continuously testing the performance of the network and are asking the community for feedback on any issues.

Once testing confirms successful network performance, the building will move from ‘testing’ to a ‘completed’ status. This expected completion will mark the entire completion of the 2014/2105 Wi-Fi Project at Ithaca College!  We are extremely pleased with the special considerations made for the A&E Center as a large public venue and excited to lay the foundation for robust Wi-Fi service in that building.

Erika Bucior, Ithaca College, won the Best Poster Presentation Award for “The physiological responses of Brassica rapa (Fast Plants) to nutrient and drought stress” Co-author: Peter Melcher. Presented at the 2015 Botanical Society of America Annual Meeting held in Edmonton, Alberta Canada for the Physiological Section.
