The President Shirley M. Collado Faculty Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Ithaca College Community is presented to an Ithaca College faculty member who exemplifies President Collado’s vision of excellence in education. Such excellence is demonstrated through an inclusive approach to educational practices of teaching, research, and/or leadership. Sites of practice include the classroom, the campus, and the community, whether local or global. The President Shirley M. Collado Faculty Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Ithaca College Community is intended to support the professional development of the chosen faculty member to further enhance their capacity for equitable and inclusive leadership in all relevant academic and community areas. Associate professor Kimberly Wilkinson (Occupational Therapy) and alumni Jules Doliscar (Occupational Therapy '16) with co-author Laura Figuero (Outdoor Kids OT, Berkeley, CA), published "From Stick Forts to Snowmen: Exploring the Benefits of Outdoor Play in Pediatric Occupational Therapy Practice" in the journal OT Practice. The article examines the benefits of outdoor play for children and provides practical strategies for how occupational therapists can use outdoor play in pediatric occupational therapy sessions.

Posted on behalf of Jeane Copenhaver-Johnson and Rachel Gould We are pleased to announce that Professor Catherine Weidner, currently chair of the Department of Theatre Arts, will serve as Interim Director of the ICLC London for the 2021-2022 academic year, joining Associate Director Orla McCormick and her London-based team. Together, they will coordinate the anticipated reopening (pending all safety clearances, which are not guaranteed) of the Center in Fall 2021. During the 2021-2022 year, the College and the London-based faculty/staff will consider and update the administrative structures of the ICLC site and will establish a long-term vision for the work of the Center. This preparation will allow the College to frame and initiate a search for ongoing ICLC leadership. Read more . . .
