Ithaca College Gerontology Institute with the Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center presents Application of Sensory Integrative Strategies with Aging Adults on Tuesday, April 8, from 2:00-4:30 p.m. at the Country Inn and Suites, 1100 Danby Road. The 2014 Finger Lakes Landfill Summit will be held at Hobart and William Smith Colleges on April 9, 2014 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm at Albright Auditorium on the HWS Campus. The Summit is co-sponsored by the City of Geneva and the Colleges, and aims to foster regional dialogue and greater understanding of the impact of solid waste management on the economy and communities of the northern Finger Lakes area.

While the 2013 Landfill Summit focused on answering the question, “Where are we?” with regard to the solid waste situation in the northern Seneca Lake region, the 2014 summit will present information about “Where should we try to go?”
Presentations will be made by Ontario County Supervisors Charlie Evangelista and Mark Venuti as well as Seneca County Supervisor Steve Churchill.

In addition, experts in solid waste management, composting, recycling, and local control will present. The Summit will be moderated by Mark Lichtenstein, Executive Director of the SyracuseCoE Center for Sustainable Communities Solutions and President of the National Recycling Coalition.

How to Get FLEFF Tickets for Cinemapolis screenings

FLEFF PASSES ON SALE AT ITHACA COLLEGE BOOKSTORE
FLEFF Passes (for five films) will be sold in person at the Ithaca College Bookstore.  $40 for general admission, $20 for students.  These cards need to be presented to secure tickets to gain admission to specific festival films at Cinemapolis.

 

Two for one coupons on FLEFF bookmarks and postcards are not valid for festival pass purchases. They are valid only for tickets to individual festival films.

For the first time, ITHACON, Ithaca's own comic book convention, will be held on the Ithaca College Campus on Saturday, April 5 from 10am to 3pm.  The Comic Book Club of Ithaca is the oldest comic book fan club in the United States and has sponsored 38 previous conventions.  This year, in collaboration with the Ithaca College departments of English, Writing, Journalism, and Art, they are bringing the convention to the Emerson Suites, Campus Center.
