Earth Hour 2012 is scheduled for TONIGHT (Saturday, March 31) from 8:30 to 9:30 PM. The basic idea of Earth Hour is to turn off your lights and otherwise reduce energy consumption during that hour as an act of environmental awareness and personal commitment to sustainability.

On Thursday, April 5th, at 7 p.m. in Emerson Suites, Lee Mun Wah, renowned documentary filmmaker, diversity educator, and group facilitator, will lecture, present film clips, and lead dialogue about issues of diversity, race/ethnicity, and racism on college campuses.  This event is free and open to the public.

Affinity groups are designed to be a safe place where both staff and faculty may speak on common interests and provide an opportunity to seek and support one another.

The Working Parents Affinity Group (WPAG) provides different perspectives on integrating work and our families as working professionals. This group is co-facilitated by two moms who work here on campus and who are interested in developing a resourceful place for other working parents to come together and share with one another based on ideas that YOU provide!!

The spring semester round of the Green Office Challenge is now underway. We encourage Green Office Challenge participants to think about the ways in which they are incorporate sustainability thinking and practice into their daily work life. Participation is open to any employee, faculty, staff or student worker. The Green Office Challenge online survey covers the broad range of sustainable workplace practices, ranging from your awareness of related college policies and programs, to your efforts to conserve energy and water resources, your support for recycling and waste reduction efforts, as well as decisions you may make related to the procurement of "green" products in your office, events you may hold or organize, and your commuter transportation choices.

Hello IC Campus Community! Here's your chance to achieve eternal fame and recognition by participating in the inaugural Ithaca College Climbing Competition.
During the week of 4/9-4/15 you can come to open hours at the Climbing Wall and compete to have the fastest ascent on any individual rope or GO BIG and attempt to climb all four ropes faster than any other competitor. Results will be tallied at the end of the week and a winners will be named.  The fastest climber on each rope will receive a free Unlimited Wall Pass for Block 1 of Fall 2012. The Winner of the four-rope challenge will receive a free Fall 2012 Semester Pass!!! In addition, winners will have their names engraved on a plaque to be hung at the Climbing Wall for all to see.

On March 26 the U.S. Supreme Court will be hearing arguments about the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act of 2010, the health reform program passed by Congress.

For an opportunity to hear diverse perspectives on the impact of the program and what to expect in the future, please join us to hear a distinguished panel comment on the most important health legislation of our generation and how it will affect all of us. There will be time after the panelist speak for audience questions and discussion.
