FLEFF has been intoxicated with the cinematic rigor, exquisite acting, and unrelenting realism of place and space of the Romanian New Wave--it epitomizes microtopia.

We’re proud to announce we are screening Tuesday After Christmas by Romanian filmmaking legend Radu Muntean,  thanks to FLEFF collaborative partners Kino Lorber International.

Two screenings ONLY:

Thursday, March 29 at 7:30 at Cinemapolis

Friday  March 30 at 9:10 at Cinemapolis.

Admission charged.

Tuesday After Christmas screened at the Cannes Film Festival, then the New York Film Festival, and now the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival.

Four Ithaca College School of Music students have been announced as semi-finalists to compete in one of the most prestigious international competitions for their instruments this summer at the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference.  The conference will be held in Linz, Austria, June 23-30th, 2012.

An introductory symposium examining how the theory, practice and performance of rasa, a Sanskrit word referring to the expression and reception of emotion in performance, is used in traditional and contemporary music, dance and theatre, in performer training and in other contexts. Dawn Pierce, assistant professor and mezzo soprano in the School of Music, recently received high praise after her opening night performance in Eugene Onegin with the Opera Carolina.

"Ms. Pierce was a lively, flirtatious, and sexy Olga. She was playful and very natural, very relaxed on stage. She is also a very beautiful woman." "Dawn Pierce was delightful. Her voice is warm and velvety and she has very good technique with flawless pitch control and breathing, in spite of the fact that she was the most physically active character on stage, running up and down and behaving like a bundle of energy."

The Ithaca College Choir, conducted by Lawrence Doebler, was on the road again this March.  The tour will feature works by Frank Martin, Francis Poulenc, Antonio Lotti, Vincent Persichetti, Josef Rheinberger, Carol Barnett, Sally Lamb McCune, Robert Fountain and Moses Hogan.  The tour performances in each city were open to all, including Ithaca College alumni and local students in the area. 
The final tour stop will be in Ford Hall this Saturday, March 24th at 8:15pm.  If you can't be there, the performance will be web streamed live at www.ithaca.edu/music/live
