The Friends 110 Computer Lab will be open limited hours from 8 am - 5 pm on Monday, September 6 and will resume regular hours on Tuesday, September 7. Williams 210 and CHS 105 will be closed on Monday, September 6.

The Student Computer Repair Center will be closed on Sunday, September 5, and Monday, September 6. The SCRC will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, September 7.

Timothy Smith ('03) won the 2nd trombone position with the Buffalo Philharmonic this past spring.  There were over 100 trombonists who took the audition.  He will be doing an alumni recital this coming spring here at IC.

Michael Dobranski ('00) is the first call bass trombonist in Las Vegas and is currently playing "The Lion King" in the Paris Hotel.  He recently finished an extended run of "The Producers" there as well.

Dr. Ken Kreuzer ('95) released the first CD of his trombone works this past year to critical acclaim.  The solo trombone works were played by Mark Kellogg, Principal Trombone of the Rochester Philharmonic, Mark Salatino, 2nd trombonist of the RPO and Dr. Hal Reynolds.  Reynolds premiered two of the works on the album and one of the works was commissioned by the Ithaca College Trombone Troupe.&

Jeffery Meyer has started the 2010-11 academic year leaving an active summer behind.  In addition to his continued duties as the Artistic Director of the Water City Chamber Orchestra in Wisconsin, Meyer is also the Artistic Director of the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic in St. Petersburg, Russia.  In May, the St. PCP made its United States debut under Meyer's baton in the "Wall To Wall, Behind the Wall" Festival at Symphony Space in New York City.  The orchestra was featured in the Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times called its performances of works by Shostakovich, Schnittke, Pärt, Lutoslawski, Gubaidulina, Bacewicz, Slonimsky and Buzina "impressive," "powerful," "blazing," and "polished."

The Division of Interdisciplinary and International Studies and the Office of International Programs cordially invite faculty applications for the Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 semester of the London Sabbatical Program. Applicants should be eligible for an approved funded sabbatical from their school or division covering faculty salary either for the Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 semester. The selected faculty members are expected to teach one course complementary to the London Center curriculum, interact with London Center instructors and students, and attend London Center faculty meetings.

Troica, the trio founded by Steven Mauk (saxophone), Kim Dunnick (trumpet) and Diane Birr (piano), presented a recital in Verbruggen Hall at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, Australia on July 8th.  The trio was invited to perform as part of the 2010 International Trumpet Guild Conference.
