FLU VACCINATION

A reminder to IC students and all those who care about them, that Ithaca College will be offering free H1N1 (swine) flu vaccine to all registered students at the Hammond Health Center on Monday October 26, from 9 AM until 4 PM, no appointment necessary. Students may also schedule free vaccination at other times by calling 274-3177.

Your class has selected the Class of 2010 Scholarship in Memory of Andrea Morton '10 as your class gift, which will be presented to President Rochon at graduation.  In addition, a banner with all donors' signatures will also be displayed at graduation.

Feeling Lucky?

There are two beautiful quilts on display at the Gerontology Institute, and we all have a chance to own them. The quilts will be raffled off at the Quilters' Dream Quilt Show on Saturday, November 7, at 2:45 p.m. The annual event will once again be held at the Longview Auditorium, 1 Bella Vista Circle, on Friday, November 6 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday, November 7, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the Gerontology Institute, 407 CHS, or from Quilters' Dream members. Please feel free to visit the quilts and get more information about the event.

The members of the First-Year Experience Coordinating Committee would like to invite all first-year students to attend a series of events designed to highlight the wonderful speakers, events and performances that happen on our campus.

On Wednesday, October 28th, at 6:30 p.m., On the Verge will present a staged reading of Hayavadana, which was written in 1971 by Girish Karnad, India's foremost living playwright as well as an acclaimed actor and film director. 

The staged reading is scheduled to coincide with Karnad's visit to Ithaca College. It will feature a cast of Ithaca College students and faculty members (including Greg Bostwick and Kathleen Mulligan, from the Department of Theatre Arts), and it will be directed by Claire Gleitman, a professor in the English department.

Dr. Ismail Mehr, who led a humanitarian aid team to Gaza, will speak and show slides about his medical relief work on Monday, October 26, 8-9:30pm in Textor 101 at Ithaca College.  Dr. Mehr and his team arrived in Gaza just a few days after the Israeli attacks in January 2009.
