Ithaca College housing looks to be significantly over target due to the size of the incoming class. As such, the Office of Residential Life recognizes the need to create additional space in traditional housing for these students. The Office of Residential Life has approved all students who have applied to move off-campus up to this point, but we anticipate the need for more available spaces. In order to address this significant need, the Office of Residential Life is offering returning students, holding on-campus housing assignments, several options to consider for fall 2009.These options include:

At its May meeting, the Ithaca College Board of Trustees granted promotions from associate to full professor to Srijana Maskey Bajracharya, Alka Bramhandkar, Nancy Cornwell, Craig Cummings, Katharine Kittredge, Janice Levy, and Thomas Swensen; tenure and promotion from assistant to associate professor to Anna Larsen; and promotion from assistant to associate professor to Karen Edwards.

Elisabeth Nonas, associate professor and chair of the Department of Cinema, Photography, and Media Arts, will attend the 2009 Game Education Summit Conference, to be held June 16-17 at Carnegie Mellon's Entertainment Technology Center in Pittsburgh.

The summit promotes dialog between academia and industry. Nonas will speak on a panel titled, "Should Game Writing Be Part of the Curriculum?"

The Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) online system to capture time worked at Ithaca College continues to be on schedule for implementation in August 2009. Recently we shared a description of a key element of this system -- Paid Time Away (PTA). We would like to thank the many folks who called with questions and provided feedback on the approach to Paid Time Away within the online system. This feedback has provided us an opportunity to take another look at the schedule of implementation and the key measures of success.

If you need to drive an IC vehicle this summer or next fall, you'll need to attend and pass a Student Driver Safety Class. This is a free two-hour class. It will be offered on Wednesday, May 27, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Textor 101. You must be 21 in order to drive an IC vehicle but NOT to take the class.
