I am the Program Manager for Cornell's Program on Breast Cancer and Environmental Risk Factors (BCERF). Our program is working on a project called The Estrogen Connection. With the help from Ithaca College students and professors we developed 3 short video clips demonstrating simple steps students can make to reduce their exposure to environmental estrogens in everyday products. Please join us in the Handwerker Gallery at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, for "Pakistan Images: Everyday Life in a 'Most Dangerous Place,' " the first Tuesday Salon of the semester.

Our image of Pakistan is constructed by what we see in the news: pictures of screaming demonstrators. But there are few to no pictures of Pakistanis living their daily lives. Back from four weeks in three cities in Pakistan, Naeem Inayatullah, associate professor in the Department of Politics, would like to share images of daily life in Pakistan and hear your responses to these images and how the compare with your conceptions of Pakistan.

The Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, Daniel Hege, music director, and violinist Elmar Oliveira will present the second concert in the “Ensembles Great and Small” Ithaca College Concerts season. Oliveira will perform the Barber violin concerto, and the orchestra will offer Mendelssohn’s fourth symphony and Respighi’s “Roman Festivals.”

The concert takes place Monday, February 2, at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall.
