Clarinetist and associate professor of music performance Richard Faria's recently released CD of the music of Cornell composer Roberto Sierra was reviewed in a recent edition of the American Record Guide.

The reviewer wrote: " ... All the players are highly skilled and tackle the music with great enthusiasm. Ithaca College professor Rick Faria is excellent, boasting a great solo sound, solid technique, a wide dynamic range, amazing comfort in the extremities of the instrument, and an artistic commitment to every piece."

The Ithaca College Chamber Orchestra, under Jeffery Meyer's direction, will present a free concert on Tuesday, December 9, at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall. The program ranges from Mozart's Symphony No. 31 and Richard Wagner's "Siegfried Idyll" to the "Triple Quartet" by Steve Reich and a work composed in 2008 by David del Puerto, "Cap de Quers."

The Employee Appreciation Reward Center will remain open until Friday, December 12.

Thanks to our caring and enthusiastic staff and faculty members, the fourth annual Employee Appreciation Program has been quite a hit. We have had the privilege of seeing hundreds of smiling faces this past month as employees have visited the Reward Center with thank-you cards and coupons in hand.

Shortline Bus, in collaboration with Cornell Student Agencies, is opening up the semester break bus to Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD and Bethesda, MD to Ithaca College students.

The bus will leave Ithaca College campus from the parking lot in front of the Park School (lot O) on Friday, December 19 at 2:30 pm and will return to Ithaca College on Saturday, January 17 between 8:30 and 9:00 pm. Cost for this bus is $100 round trip to Philadelphia, and $110 round trip to Baltimore or Bethesda.
