Assistant professors Dennis Charsky and Mary Lou Kish, of the Department of Strategic Communication, along with Howard Kalman, associate professor and chair of the communications graduate program, recently attended the annual international convention of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), where they presented a research study entitled, "A Student Perspective: Laptops in the College Classroom."

Charsky and Kish copresented another session with communication management and design (CMD) seniors Jessica Briskin, Sarah Hathaway, and Kira Walsh. The presentation, "Redesigning a Course Management System to Enhance a Course Simulation," was based on a project the students completed while taking Charsky’s E-Learning course last spring, with Kish serving as their "client."

The SGA is beginning a search process for a new vice president of communications and vice president of business and finance for the spring 2009 semester. The positions are currently held by Luke Elmers '10 (VP of communications) and Miriam Feldman '10 (VP of business and finance), both of whom will be studying off-campus next semester.

Both positions are a part of the SGA's executive board, and applications are open to all IC students.

WICB on mtvU -- Viewing Party

As most of you know 92 WICB won the mtvU Woodie award for best college radio station! We're going to have a viewing party of the award show on Wednesday, November 19, at 8:00 p.m. in Textor 103. We hope to see you there!
