Homecoming Week a Success!

Thank you to everyone who helped plan and implement this year's Homecoming Week events. Also, a huge thank you to everyone who attended the pep rally. I estimated about 500 people would attend this event and we had over 400 people in attendance.

Service Learning Workshop

An essay authored by Matthew Fee, director of the Park Scholar Program and a lecturer in the Department of Cinema, Photography, and Media Arts, has been published in the Routledge anthology, Genre and Cinema: Ireland and Transnationalism.

Fee's essay, " 'Sometimes the Imagination is a Safer Place' -- Fantastic Spaces and The Fifth Province," explores how the genre of the fantastic has defined national identity in Irish cinema.

The Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen film series will feature the documentary, Almost Myself: Reflections on Mending and Transcending Gender, on Monday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m. in Textor 102. The screening is free and open to the public. The film tells the story of Judy Kirchner, a transgender woman who contemplates reversing her sex change as she approaches her 40th birthday.

The campus community is reminded that His Holiness the Dalai Lama will visit Ithaca College on Wednesday, October 10, to deliver "Eight Verses on Training the Mind" from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Ben Light Gymnasium. The visit will cause some disruptions in normal travel and parking patterns.
