Concert and Symphonic Bands

Directed by Mark Fonder and Elizabeth Peterson, the Concert and Symphonic Bands will present a joint concert on Tuesday, October 2, at 8:15 in Ford Hall. Their program features music of "Long Ago and Far Away," with compositions by Respighi, Saint-Saëns, and Tschesnekoff, among others.

A free evening of African Drumming and Dance will be presented on Thursday, October 4, at 7:00 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music at Ithaca College. Sulley Imoro, dance instructor for the Dagara Music Center in Medie, West Africa, will serve as artist in residence for this performance. Baruch Whitehead is the group's director.

Trombonist Harold Reynolds will present a free recital at 8:15 on Wednesday, October 3, in the Hockett Family Recital Hall at Ithaca College. A professor of music performance at the School of Music, Reynolds will be joined by pianist Andrea Merrill and marimbist Gordon Stout for this recital. All works on the program were either commissioned by Reynolds or written for him by composers Paul Goldstaub, Ken Kreuzer, and Frank Siekmann.

Oboe and English Horn Recital

Doubling as oboist and English horn player, Paige Morgan will present a free recital at 8:15 on Thursday, October 4, in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. An associate professor of music performance in the School of Music, Morgan will be joined by pianist Kathy Hansen for this performance.
