Susan Swensen, associate professor of biology, and Marian Brown, special assistant to the provost, presented a series of ten posters, entitled "Exploring Positive Growth: The Sustainability Initiative at Ithaca College."

The conference, "Greening of the Campus VII," was held at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, earlier this month.

A sinkhole has developed in front of 125 Giles Street. The corrugated metal pipe that serves the storm drains has rusted out, and crews from the Department of Public Works (DPW) will replace the entire pipe.

Assistant professor of chemistry Scott Ulrich presented at Colby College in Maine. The title of his presentation, "Chemical Inhibition of Bacteria Quorum Sensing," describes a novel approach to antibiotics that targets bacterial signaling pathways which control virulence, as opposed to bacteroicidal or bacteriostatic drugs.
