Anthropologist Joel Savishinsky, Charles A. Dana Professor in the Social Sciences and Gerontology Institute Fellow, recently published an article, "The Quest for Legacy in Later Life," in the Journal of Intergenerational Relations, volume 4, number 4. In the essay, Professor Savishinsky explores how older people from American and other cultures try to construct meaningful legacies for younger generations in their later years.

Charles D. Ciccone '75 and Kyle Willets '06 were recently selected to receive national awards by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) to be presented at the Annual Conference, June 29 in Denver. Ciccone was one of 12 physical therapists selected to be named a Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the APTA, and Willets was one of 10 students selected to receive the Mary MacMillan Scholarship award.

On Thursday, April 26, the Yaardvarks will perform at the Handwerker Gallery. The Yaardvarks, a quirky folky semi-acoustic trio featuring Tom Farrell, John Simon and Ken Zeserson, specialize in heartfelt rock and roll with three-part vocal arrangements of tunes by the likes of Elvis Costello, Talking Heads, Joni Mitchell and their predecessors such as the Beatles, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.
