Every year at this time, the Office of Conference and Event Services works with the Office of Dining Services to project catering costs for the following year.

This information should be helpful to student groups and departments as they begin the budget process for 2007-2008.

Based on projected changes in labor, benefits and product cost, catering prices will increase an average of 4% for the 2007-2008 fiscal year.

If you have any questions about catering prices or policies, please contact the Office of Conference and Event Services, 274-3313.

Students and staff at the Ithaca College James B. Pendleton Center in Los Angeles joined 30,000 others in the 22nd Los Angeles AIDS Walk on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Ithaca's team, The Stompers, and its sponsors helped the AIDS Walk set a new record of $3.7 million raised.

Ithaca College School of Music faculty violinist Rebecca Ansel will give a free recital of baroque music on Wednesday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. She will be assisted by harpsichordist Gabriel Shuford and Nicholas Walker on bass viol in music by Biber, Castello, Corelli, and Vivaldi.

Clarinetist Richard Faria will give a free recital at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music at Ithaca College. Faria, an associate professor of music performance in the School of Music, will be joined by colleagues Jairo Geronymo, piano; Heidi Hoffman, cello, and Deborah Lifton, soprano. The program includes the Brahms sonata for clarinet, cello, and piano; the Saint-Saëns Clarinet Sonata, Bozza’s “Bucolique,” and a new work by Sally Lamb, “Love’s Philosophy” for clarinet, soprano, and piano. Sally Lamb is a recently appointed assistant professor of composition at the School of Music.

The Ithaca Brass performs Monday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. in a free concert in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. Their program includes quintets by Sanders and Arnold, along with some Renaissance dances by Praetorius and a transcription of Fauré’s “Dolly Suite.”

John Confer gave an invited presentation on "Managing Early-Successional Forests For Avian Species of the Declining Shrubland Guild" at the annual meeting of the Society of American Foresters.

The panel was on avian management, which was organized by Jeff Larkin (Bio 1995).

The IC Residence Hall Association has officially challenged you to compete against each other in a HALL WAR. The victor of this war will be determined by which tower uses the least amount of electricity in a two week span.
