The Network and Unified Communications team with assistance from two third party partners will be replacing outdated network equipment in several buildings on campus between Monday May 22nd and Friday May 26th. Once complete, network services will be more reliable and ready to accommodate additional bandwidth.

After a national search, David Weil has been named Associate Vice President for Digital Instruction and Information Services (DIIS) and Chief Information Officer at Ithaca College. We want to thank and applaud Dave for serving over the past year as Interim AVP, succeeding Keith “Mac” McIntosh, who left IC in July 2016. Our thanks as well to the search committee, led by Dean John Sigg, for its diligent work over the past several months.

  Playwrights & Co. is an informal working group for writers, actors, directors and anyone else interested in, or working in, the theater world. Meetings will be monthly from 6-8 pm, at a central location in Cortland.

Participants are encouraged to bring works and/or ideas in progress to share with the group, in a laid-back and supportive atmosphere. Our first meeting will be mid-June.

An article by Communication Studies Assistant Professor Chris House will appear in Volume 7 of the Journal of Contemporary Rhetoric.  Titled, "Remembering Jim Crow in the Age of Trump: An Analysis of the Rhetorical Function of the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia," the essay analyzes how racist images and artifacts are being used to create a more honest record of public memory of the Jim Crown period.

The Dean's Award is granted annually to the graduating senior with the highest grade point average in each of the four disciplinary areas in H&S: Social & Behavioral Sciences, Natural Sciences, Humanities, and Fine & Performing Arts.

Janet Millspaugh, R.N., is retiring from her position as a nurse at the Hammond Health Center after 30 years of service.

She has worked as a clinic nurse as well as her current position as Lab Result Nurse. In addition to this role, she coordinates with the local health department and chairs the Infection Control Committee at the Health Center.
