(140 words) Submitted on behalf of Brian Dickens, Vice President for Human Resources As communicated in early March, the College has engaged Sibson Consulting (a Human Resources consulting firm that is nationally recognized in Higher Education), to reassess and update the staff compensation program and provide a high-level review of health benefits, retirement, and other pay-related policies. To launch this project, members of the Sibson consulting team visited campus and met with various representative groups to begin to understand current perspectives around the College’s compensation and benefits programs. At that time, we indicated that our employees would have an opportunity to participate in this data gathering phase of the project through an on-line survey.

(167 words) In an effort to support the increasing growth of conferences and events occurring at Ithaca College during the summer, Parking Services has collaborated with Campus Center and Event Services to create new summer parking restrictions that are more hospitable to the many visitors that are attracted to come to Ithaca College over the summer. The goal of this change is to create a more welcoming environment for our summer guests who are unfamiliar with our campus. These changes are feasible given the significant reduction of faculty, staff and students accessing parking facilities on campus during the summer months.

(1152 words) As is being reported in the media, a number of organizations around the world have been hit by a major ransomware attack. Ransomware is a kind of malicious software, similar to computer viruses, that encrypts user files and then holds them hostage demanding payment for the keys to decrypt them. DIIS is not aware of any IC computers that have fallen victim to ransomware as part of this attack, but there’s no reason to think we will not be affected. Read more . . . (232 words)
