DIIS has upgraded the college’s academic SPSS network license to version 24. If you currently have version 23 and haven't already requested an upgrade, your network license for SPSS will stop working as of 5:00PM on Friday, November 11th. You can order your SPSS upgrade by filling out and submitting this form.  Please be sure to include the computer asset tag and platform (Windows or Mac) as requested on the form. The subscription charge is $85 for FY 16-17.

With Himadeep Muppidi (Vassar College), Naeem Inayatullah presented “The Miracle is What I am Trying to Understand: Science, Biography and Intimacy in International Politics.”  The invitation to deliver their multimedia presentation came by way of University of Aberystwyth's Politics and Performance International group.   Naeem also attended the two day conference titled Racialized Realities in World Politics organized by the journal Millennium at the London School of Economics.  He presented “How to Enjoy an Avocado: Hegel, Race, and Genocide,” and served as a discussant for the panel,  “Telling Stories in/of a Racialized World.”

Hélène Larin, PT, PhD, a member of the IC Tots on Bots research team, presented "Effect of Robotic Self-initiated Mobility Experience on Cognition in Pre-crawling Infants: Preliminary Findings."

 

We are looking for infants who will soon turn 5 months, born within 3 weeks of due date, weighing less than 30 lbs., have not yet started to crawl on hands and knees, and are developing typically.

Arhlene A. Flowers, associate professor in Integrated Marketing Communications, and Yvette Sterbenk, assistant professor in Communication Management and Design, published “Winter, You Win: Ithaca Convention and Visitors Bureau ‘Surrenders’ to Key West with an Unconventional Campaign that Goes Viral” in Case Studies in Strategic Communication (CSSC). CSSC is a peer-reviewed online journal dedicated to the study of strategic communication through the case study form. Both Flowers and Sterbenk are in the Department of Strategic Communication housed in the Roy H. Park School of Communications.
